This winter, Bordo de las Lanzas offers a variety of activities and attractions for travelers to enjoy.

July vacation at an authentic ranch in Northern Argentina

Historic towns, hikes, or horseback riding within the El Totoral Nature Reserve, cooking or folk dance classes, and the chance to immerse yourself in the life of an authentic estancia with over 400 years of history.

Just 60 km from the city of Salta and 70 km from the city of Jujuy, with excellent highway access, this typical Salta estancia offers a variety of activities for all types of travelers. Located in a subtropical valley that was the birthplace of the gaucho hero Martín Miguel de Güemes, it has a pleasant climate for enjoying days outdoors and cozying up by the fireplace when the sun goes down.

Historic Towns

Just 2 km from the estancia is the town of Campo Santo, one of the oldest in the province of Salta. The San Isidro Sugar Mill, considered the first sugar mill in the country, was founded there in 1760. You can get there by bike from the ranch and stroll through its plaza surrounded by historic buildings and visit its church, which dates back to 1782. A few kilometers from Campo Santo, you'll find the town of Cobos, famous for its fort, where Belgrano was stationed twice.

Enjoy Nature

There are 2,500 hectares to explore, crossing fields of sugarcane, beans, sorghum, peanuts, and other experimental crops that intertwine among islands of forest where the diversity of trees is part of the attraction. At the end of the countryside, you'll find the El Totoral Nature Reserve, home to more than 70 species of wild birds, more than 80 tree species, 15 species of reptiles, seven species of amphibians, and even the occasional roe deer. You might be surprised by the appearance of a roe deer or a fox. Wildlife thrives in this 700-hectare area. The water attracts a variety of birds and is the habitat of the now protected caiman.

Experience the daily life of an estancia

At El Bordo de las Lanzas, you can ride horses alongside the estancia's gauchos, tour the sugarcane plantations, which are in full harvest season (July and August), learn the gaucho's work, and visit the sheep farm.

Cooking Classes

In the main hall or house, built by General Güemes's mother, you can learn to cook an exquisite carbonada with Leo, the chef, or visit the nursery where Juan, the gardener, tests seeds, creates seedlings, and reproduces cuttings.
