Climate and clothing

Please, keep these tips in mind when packing:

If you visit us in spring or summer (between the months of September and April), you will most likely enjoy warm days and cool nights. The weather might be rather wet from December onwards, and there may be some short strong storms typical of tropical climates. If you have a favourite make of mosquito repellent, we suggest you bring it with you.

If you come in autumn or winter (between the months of May and August), temperatures will probably be low in the morning and after the sun has set. Some times they may drop below zero. At midday, it is usually dry and sunny. We suggest you bring different light garments which you can wear in layers, take off or put back on, depending on the time of day.

It is always a good idea to pack a pair of comfortable trousers or jeans to go horse-riding, suitable trekking or walking shoes and a swimming suit. Other useful items are a pair of binoculars, a camera, sunglasses and sunscreen. The dress code at supper time is smart, but still casual.
